Students Travel to DC

October 20, 2015, 12:00 am

Twenty-nine Grand Traverse Academy 8th and 9th graders, along with eight chaperones, visited our nation's capital from September 20-25.  They began their journey with tours of  Gettysburg National Military Park in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland.  The group then headed into DC to tour the monuments, the White House and the Capitol Building.  Their experience was capped off with an impromptu drive-by of Pope Francis and visiting the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.  We were so proud of our students, who were complimented by a group of police officers in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia as the most mature and respectful group they had ever seen.
