GTA high school students will participate in Reality Check 2024 on Friday morning, March 1. The event is designed to give them a dose of financial relaity as they learn money management skills. Each student will be randomly assigned a hypothetical career, marital status, family size, a salary and a checkbook. From there, they enter a simulated community where they will face various financial obligations, from rent or mortgage payments to utilities, insurance premiums and medical bills. Planting the financial skills seed early will help our students develop healthy saving and spending habits which will provide a lifetime of benefits.
